OPEN SAUNA MAPTreehotel is a small hotel in Harads, northern Sweden, where the accommodation consists of individually designed rooms built into or suspended among the trees. Each room has been created by a different architect or design team, resulting in a collection of structures that vary considerably in form, among them a mirrored cube that reflects the surrounding forest, a bird's nest, a UFO-shaped pod, a biosphere designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, and several others. The rooms are meant to sit lightly in the landscape and are reached via walkways from the forest floor. In addition to the tree rooms there is a guesthouse for more conventional accommodation. The hotel has a restaurant, organises activities suited to the season, which in this part of Sweden means things like northern lights viewing, dog sledding, and hiking depending on the time of year, and can host conferences and private events.
